Wrin Svinxi, local tiefling curio trader, having foreseen an ominous portent of the long abandoned and empty Gauntlight once again emanating it’s ghastly glow, summoned a band of adventurers to investigate what is occurring in the Vaults underneath the Gauntlight. A noble band of adventurers named The Sporetans heeded the call, and immediately set out to The Gauntlight to investigate whether there is merit to this terrifying vision. Upon arrival to the abandoned lighthouse, The Sporetans encountered a small group of Nitflits who were displaced by mysterious “Mushroom Eyed People” from the depth below, and were carving out a humble life in the moldy ruins of the lighthouse. Upon discovering the Nitflits plan to siege Otari, The Sporetans enacted a regime change and placed a friendly Nitflit (ahem Prisoner) in charge, and let them be. The Sporetans were set upon by a dizzying array of beasts, ghosts, and machinations before even stepping into the first level of the vaults underneath the Gauntlight, including a Scorpion who nearly killed Sporeticus TWICE!, and also laid The Sworn (our new trusty gunslinger), and a small contingent of undead that nearly killed our humble goblin Summoner Nibigon.
Shortly before entering the depths, the Gauntlight erupted in light which shone upon the Otari Graveyard and summoned an army of undead that besieged Otari, during which the Sporetans valiantly helped fight off the assault, and during which Sporeticus once again almost gave his life in defense of The Sporetans and the people of Otari. Upon returning once again from the brink of death, Sporeticus would learn to open a gate from the Plane of Earth in addition to the Plane of Fire, allowing him to better absorb the damage from those who would harm his team. Upon descending into the first level of The Vaults, Nibbigon would establish his new lair in the Study at the top of the descent into the depths. The Sporetans would now encounter a terrifying swamp dragon, and a small community of Morlocks (the Mushroom Eyed People who had displaced the Nitflits), who themselves had been forced from even deeper in the Vaults by “ghouls”. Meanwhile, both The Sworn and our Cleric of Desna would be called to a new calling, Desna willing our Cleric to spread the word of Cryptocurrency. Wrin would introduce us to a dwarven Cleric of Magrim who would immediately prove their worth by saving Sporeticus not once, but twice!, in our valiant effort to rid the vaults of the Morlock menace, who existed to serve Belacora.
Nibbigon has decided that adventuring is too dangerous for him. And has set up his residence in the Workshop outbuilding of the Gauntlight keep.
